Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1855, to July 1, 1860, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Bvt. Second Lieut. of Infantry, July 1, 1860. Served: in garrison at Ft. Columbus, N. Y., 1860; on frontier duty at Ft. Dalles, Or., Dec. 4, 1860, to Jan. 28, 1861; and on leave of (Second Lieut., 10th Infantry, Feb. 27, 1861) absence. Served during the Rebellion of the Seceding States, 1861‑64: in garrison (First Lieut., 10th Infantry, June 14, 1861) at Ft. Columbus, N. Y., 1861; on Recruiting service, Sep. 1, 1861, to Apr. 1, 1862; and on leave of absence, Apr. 1, 1862, to Jan. 1, 1864. Captain, Staff — Additional Aide-de‑Camp, Apr. 17, 1862. Captain, 10th Infantry, Sep. 19, 1863. Died, Jan. 1, 1864, at Nice, France: Aged 25. |
