Engineer of Brig.‑General G. W. Morgan's Division (Army of the Ohio), July 30 to Oct. 4, 1862, being engaged in Defense of Cumberland Gap, East Tennessee, July 30 to Sep. 17, 1862, — and as Acting Aide-de‑Camp to the Commanding General on the retreat through Eastern Kentucky to the Ohio River, Sep. 17 to Oct. 4, 1862; at Louisville, Ky., preparing drawings of the Defenses of Cumberland Gap, Oct. 4 to Dec. 11, 1862, — and constructing Defenses of Louisville and Nashville Railroad, Nov. 8 to Dec. 11, 1862; as Asst. Engineer, Department of the Cumberland, Dec. 12, 1862, to Nov. 19, 1864, being engaged in the construction of the Defenses of Nashville, Dec. 15, 1862, to Nov. 19, 1864 (except while on

Died, Jan. 22, 1870, at Charleston Harbor, S. C.: Aged 28.
