Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1860, to June 13, 1864, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., 2d Artillery, June 13, 1864. Served during the Rebellion of the Seceding States, 1864‑66: in garrison at Ft. Hamilton, N. Y., July‑Aug., 1864, — Ft. McHenry, Md., Aug., 1864, to Feb., 1865, — Pleasant Valley, Md., Feb. to Apr., 1865, — Bladensburg, (First Lieut., 2d Artillery, Feb. 9, 1865) Md., Apr. to June, 1865, — and Ft. McHenry, Md., July‑Aug., 1865. Served: in garrison at San Francisco Harbor, Cal., Sep., 1865, to June 11, 1867; on leave of absence to Dec. 11, 1867; and in garrison at Camp Steele, San Juan Island, Wash., to Sep., 1868, — Ft. Wrangell, Alas., to July 14, 1870, — and at San Francisco, Cal., to Dec. 10, 1870. Honorably Mustered out of Service, Dec. 10, 1870. Civil History. — Unknown, nothing authentic having been received. Died, Feb. 20, 1872, at West Martinsburg, N. Y.: Aged 31. |
