Served: in garrison at New Orleans, La., Oct. 1‑26, 1865; as Aide-de‑Camp to General A. J. Smith, at Alexandria, La., Oct. 26, 1865, to Jan. 4, 1866; in garrison at Carlisle Barracks, Pa., Jan. 4 to Mar. 6, 1866; with Regimental headquarters, at Denver Barracks, Cal., Apr. to June, 1866, — Ft. Vancouver, Wash., June, 1866, to Aug., 1867; as Adjutant (First Lieut., 1st Cavalry, Oct. 15, 1866) of 1st Cavalry, Sep. 7, 1866, to Nov. 7, 1869; on leave of absence, Aug. 26, 1867, to July 15, 1868; on frontier duty, at Ft. Vancouver, Wash., to Dec., 1869; and on leave of absence, to Mar. 1, 1870. Resigned, Mar. 1, 1870. Civil History. — Paper Manufacturer, 1870‑78. Assistant Secretary of Dayton, O., Fire Insurance Company, since 1878. Buried, Woodland Cemetery, Cincinnati, OH. |
