First Lieut., 19th Infantry, June 23, 1865. Served: in garrison at Augusta, Ga., Oct. 10 to Dec. 14, 1865; on sick leave of absence, Dec., 1865, to Feb. 19, 1866; on frontier duty at Camden, Ark., Mar., 1866, to Mar., 1867, — Ft. Gibson, I. T., Mar. to June, 1867, — and Dover, Ark., June to Aug., 1867; on sick leave of absence, Aug. 20 to Nov. 15, 1867; on frontier duty at Ft. Smith, Ark., to Apr. 24, (Captain, 19th Infantry, Nov. 18, 1867) 1869, — Boggs Depot, I. T., as Indian Agent, to Dec. 4, 1870; on leave (Unassigned, Mar. 31, 1869) of absence and joining regiment to Mar. 8, 1871; in garrison at Presidio, (Transferred to 2d Artillery, Jan. 1, 1871) San Francisco, Cal., to June 19, 1871, — Yerba Buena Island, Cal., to Oct. 24, 1871, — Presidio, Cal., to June, 1872, — Sitka, Alas., to Dec., 1872, — and Ft. McHenry, Md., to Jan. 29, 1874; and in arrest, to July 24, 1874. Dismissed, July 24, 1874. Civil History. — Unknown, nothing authentic having been received. Military History. — Served: Awaiting orders, July 24, 1876, to (Captain, U. S. Army, July 24, 1876, by Act of July 24, 1876) Jan. 10, 1878; as Professor of Military Science at Texas Agricultural College, Jan. 10, 1878, to Aug. 8, 1881; in charge of U. S. Military Telegraph Lines in the Division of California and Arizona, Dec., 1882, to Aug. 11, 1883; and in arrest and undergoing trial by Court Martial, July 22 to Oct. 22, 1884. Dismissed, Oct. 22, 1884. Vol. IV Civil History. — Unknown. Vol. V Civil History. — Unknown. Died April 6, 1903, at St. Louis, Mo.: Aged 62. Buried, Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, NJ. |
