Jesup, LA.a Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1861, to June 23, 1865, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., 13th Infantry, June 23, 1865. First Lieut., 13th Infantry, June 23, 1865. Served: on frontier duty at Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., Oct., 1865, to May, 1866, — Camp Cook, Mon., July to Nov., 1866; as Aide-de‑Camp to Bvt. Maj.‑General Hancock, Nov. 15, 1866, to June 18, 1868; on sick leave of (Transferred to 2d Cavalry, Feb. 13, 1867) absence, Nov. 16, 1866, to Mar. 14, 1867; and on frontier duty in Kansas and Colorado, Mar. to Aug., 1867. Died, June 18, 1868, at Washington, D. C.: Aged 25. Buried, Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. |
