Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1862, to p68 June 18, 1866, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., Ordnance, June 18, 1866. Served: as Asst. Ordnance Officer at Washington Arsenal, D. C., Oct. 1, 1866, to Oct. 18, 1867, — at Augusta Arsenal, Ga., Oct. 1867, to May 13, 1869 (leave of absence, Sep. 30, 1868, to Feb. 28, 1869), — at Watertown Arsenal, Mas., May 13, 1869, to May 5, 1871, — at Rock Island Arsenal, Ill., June 13, 1871, to Nov. 10, 1875, — at Frankford Arsenal, (First Lieut., Ordnance, June 23, 1874) Pa., Nov. 23, 1875, to Dec. 10, 1879 (temporarily detached for duty at (Captain, Ordnance, Mar. 25, 1876) Washington Arsenal, D. C., Dec. 19, 1876, to June 1, 1877, and for duty with Major-General Hancock while suppressing Railroad Disturbances, July 31 to Nov. 27, 1877); and on sick leave of absence, to Apr. 24, 1880. Died Apr. 24, 1880, at Washington, D. C.: Aged 34. |
