Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1862, to June 17, 1867, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., 3d Artillery, June 17, 1867. Served: in garrison at Ft. Sullivan, Me., Sep. 28, 1867, to Apr. 20, 1869; on leave of absence, Apr. 20 to May 13, 1869; and awaiting (Transferred to 21st Infantry, May 13, 1869) orders, May 13, 1869, to Sep. 1, 1870. Honorably Discharged at his own Request, Sep. 1, 1870. Civil History. — Superintendent of Pittsburg, Ft. Wayne, and Chicago Railroad, 1876‑79. Iron business, Grand Rapids, Mich., 1879‑85. Died, Dec. 23,a 1889, at New York city: Aged 45. Buried, Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburg, PA. |
