Born Feb. 10, 1845, Baltimore, MD.a Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1864, to June 15, 1868, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., 5th Artillery, June 15, 1868. Served: in garrison at Camp Williams, Va., Oct. 1, 1868, to July 29, 1869; on Court-martial duty, to Oct. 12, 1869; at the Military Academy as Assistant Professor of Spanish, Oct. 18, 1869, to Aug. 29, 1870; in garrison at Ft. Adams, R. I., to May 18, 1871, — Ft. Monroe, Va. (Artillery School for Practice), June 10, 1871, to May 1, 1872, — and Ft. Sullivan, Me., to Aug. 12, 1872; at the Military Academy as Principal Assistant Professor of Spanish, Aug. 28, 1872, to Aug. 28, 1875; in garrison at Ft. Independence, Mas., Sep. 1 to Dec., 1875, — and Charleston, S. C., (First Lieut., 5th Artillery, Mar. 11, 1876) to Apr. 9, 1876; and on leave of absence in Europe, to Apr. 9, 1877. Resigned, Apr. 9, 1877. Civil History. — Farmer, Warren County, N. Y., since 1877. Vol. IV Died, July 1, 1898, at Lake George, N. Y.: Aged 53. See Annual Association of Graduates, U. S. M.
