Leavenworth, Kan., Nov. 11, 1870, to Mar., 1871; in garrison at Louisville, Ky., Apr. 13 to May 5, 1871, — Bagdad, Ky., to Sep., 1871, — Spartanburg, S. C., Oct. 19 to Dec., 1871, — and Unionville, S. C., to Mar. 10, 1873 (leave of absence Feb. 8 to May 5, 1872, and Aug. 13 to Oct. 15, 1872); on frontier duty joining regiment and at Yankton, Dak., Apr. 11 to May 7, 1873, — Yellowstone Expedition, to June, 1873, — and Ft. Rice, Dak., Oct. 8, 1873, to Apr. 10, 1874; on sick leave of absence, to Oct. 1874; in garrison, Ala., to Dec., 1874, — and Opelika, Ala., to May, 1875; on frontier duty at Ft. Randall, Dak., May 30 to Sep. 21, 1875, — and Ft. Totten, Dak., Oct. 19, 1875, to Mar., 1876; as Member (First Lieut., 7th Cavalry, Dec. 2, 1875) of Board purchasing horses, Apr. to Sep., 1876; and on sick leave of absence, Oct., 1876, to June 28, 1878.

Vol. IV Military History. — Retired officer. Vol. V Military History. — Retired officer. — Residence, Kansas City, Mo., and Dallas, Texas.
