Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1866, to June 15, 1870, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., 8th Cavalry, June 15, 1870. Served: on frontier duty at Ft. Union, N. M., Oct., 1870, to Nov., (Transferred to 2d Artillery, Oct. 7, 1871) 1871; in garrison at Alcatraz Island, Cal., Nov. 25, 1871, to Dec. 4, 1872, — Ft. Foote, Md., Dec. 13, 1872, to Apr. 28, 1874, — Ft. Monroe, Va. (Artillery School for Practice), May 1, 1874, to May 1, 1875, — Ft. McHenry, Md., May 31 to Dec. 27, 1875, — Special duty at Ft. Monroe, Va. (Artillery School for Practice), Dec. 27, 1875, to July 1, 1881, — and (First Lieut., 2d Artillery, June 7, 1878) Ft. McHenry, Md., to June 22, 1883; and on sick leave of absence to Oct. 28, 1883. Died, Oct. 28, 1883, at Huntsville, Ala.: Aged 36. |
