Served: in garrison at the Presidio of San Francisco, Cal., to April 1‑11,º 1872, — and Angel Island, Cal., to May 11, 1872; on frontier duty at Ft. Yuma, Cal., to June, 1872, — Camp Lowell, Ara., to Jan. 25, 1873, — Special duty at Ft. Yuma, Cal., to Mar., 1873, — and Camp Lowell, Ara., to Apr. 10, 1874; and on leave of absence, to Aug. 1, 1874. Resigned, Aug. 1, 1874. Civil History. — Lumber Merchant, Brooklyn, N. Y., 1874‑80. Deputy Collector of U. S. Revenue, N. Y., 1880‑82. Deputy Fire Commissioner, Brooklyn, N. Y., 1882‑84, and Commissioner, 1884‑86. Major, New York Militia, 1879‑86. Insurance Business, Brooklyn, N. Y., 1886‑88; and New York city, since 1888. Vol. IV Civil History. — Unknown. Vol. V Civil History. — Unknown. Vol. VI (Richard Henry Poillon, Born Oct. –––––, 1846.) Military History. — Second Lieut., 23d Infantry, June 12, 1871. Resigned, Aprilº 1, 1874. Nothing heard from him since 1888 at which time he was in Insurance business in New York City. Vol. VII (Richard Henry Poillon, Born Nov. 5, 1846.) Military History: — Second Lieutenant, 23rd Infantry, June 12, 1871. Resigned, Apr.º 1, 1874. An invalid for the latter years of his life. Died, Aug. 1, 1925, at New York, N. Y.: Aged 78. Buried, Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. |
