D. A. Russell, Wy., Sep. 16, 1874, to Nov. 4, 1875, — Omaha Barracks, Neb., to May 28, 1876, — Ft. Laramie, Wy., to June 12, 1876, — Sago Creek, Wy., to July 23, 1876, — and Big Horn Expedition, with 5th Cavalry, to Nov., 1876 (Acting Aide-de‑Camp to Commander of Cavalry Force, Aug. 4 to Nov., 1876); leave of absence, Nov. 4, 1876, to Feb. 1, 1877; on frontier duty at Ft. Gibson, (First Lieut., 23d Infantry, Mar. 16, 1877) I. T., to Apr. 13, 1877, — Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., Apr. 14, 1877, to Nov. 3, 1878; on leave of absence, Nov. 3 to Dec. 31, 1878; on frontier duty at Ft. Supply, I. T., to Mar. 6, 1879, — Camp on North Fork of Canadian River, I. T., to Feb. 26, 1880, — Scouting, to June 7, 1880, — Ft. Reno, I. T. (Scouting, June, 1881), to Jan. 14, 1882 (leave of absence, to July 15, 1882), — and Ft. Union, N. M., to June 2, 1884; and in garrison at Ft. Porter, N. Y., to Apr. 10, 1885. Resigned, Apr. 10, 1885. Civil History. — Unknown, nothing authentic having been received.
