Henry Moore Harrington: Born Apr. 30, 1849, Albion, NY.a Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1868, to June 14, 1872, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., 7th Cavalry, June 14, 1872. Served: in garrison at Charlotte, N. C., Oct. 31, 1872, to Mar. 31, 1873; on frontier duty at Yankton, Dak., Apr., 1873, — Yellowstone Expedition, to Sep., 1873, — Ft. Rice, Dak., to June, 1874, — Black Hills Expedition, to Sep., 1874, — Ft. Rice, Dak., to Oct. 10, 1875 (leave of absence, to Mar. 9, 1876), — Ft. Seward, Dak., to Apr. 17, 1876, — Ft. Lincoln, Dak., to May, 1876, — and on Sioux Expedition, to June 25, 1876, when, in the Massacre of the Little Big Horn, Mon., he was Killed, June 25, 1876: Aged 27. |
