Lincoln, Dak., Aug. 29, 1876, (Transferred to 7th Cavalry, June 26, 1876) to May 1, 1877 (leave of absence, Nov. 20, 1876, to Mar. 10, 1877), — (First Lieut., 7th Cavalry, Dec. 9, 1876) Nez Percés Expedition, May 1 to Nov. 20, 1877, being engaged in the Battle of Cañon Creek, Mon., Sep. 13, 1877, — Ft. A. Lincoln, Dak., Nov. 20, 1877, to Aug., 1878, — Scouting and at Bear Butte, Dak., to Nov. 20, 1878, — Ft. A. Lincoln, Dak., Nov. 20, 1878, to June 22, 1882, — Regimental Adjutant, Nov. 30, 1881, to Aug. 14, 1886, — Ft. Meade, Dak., to Aug. 19, 1886, — Ft. Buford, Dak., to Aug. 8, 1887, — and Ft. Meade, Dak., to July 22, 1888; and as Professor of Military Science, University of Ohio, to –––––. Vol. IV (John William Wilkinson) Military History. — Served: Professor of Military Science and Tactics, University of Ohio, to Aug. 11, 1890. — With regiment on frontier duty at Fort Sill, Okla., to Nov. 29, 1891. (Captain of Cavalry, 7th Cavalry, Jan. 30, 1892) — On sick leave until he Died, March 22, 1892, at Yuma City, Ariz.: Aged 45.
