Served: on frontier duty at Ft. Hays, Kan., Sep. 30, 1872, to Apr. 19, 1873, — Ft. Dodge, Kan., Apr. 23 to Oct. 7, 1873, — Ft. Hays, Kan., Oct. 18, 1873, to May 5, 1874, — Ft. Dodge, Kan., May 10 to Nov. 18, 1874 (Scouting, May 14 to June 15, 1874, and June 20 to July 5, 1874, and on Expedition to Indian Territory, Aug. 13 to Dec. 26, 1874), — Ft. Lyon, Col., to Aug. 10, 1875 (leave of absence, May 21 to July 31, 1875), p198 — Camp Bowie, Ara., Aug. 24, 1875, to Jan., 1877, — Camp Apache, (First Lieut., 6th Cavalry, Nov. 15, 1876) Ara., to May 13, 1877, — Camp Verde, Ara., May 25, 1877, to May, 1878, — and in command of Indian Scouts in the field, to July 11, 1878, when by a flood he was Drowned, July 11, 1878, near Camp Supply, Ara.: Aged 30. Buried, Fort Bowie Post Cemetery, Bowie, AZ. |
