Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1868, to June 14, 1872, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., 14th Infantry, June 14, 1872. Served: on frontier duty at Ft. Laramie, Wy., Sep. 26, 1872, to Aug. 19, 1874 (Camp Mahoney, Wy., Jan. 29 to Mar. 17, 1873), — Camp Douglas, Utah, Aug. 28, 1874, to July 15, 1875, — and Ft. Hall, Ida., July 19, 1878, to Feb. 26, 1879; and on leave of absence, to May 25, 1879. Resigned, May 25, 1879. Civil History. — Unknown, nothing authentic having been received. Vol. IV Civil History. — Special Pension Examiner, Cleveland, O., since Nov. 1, 1889; before this time he was engaged in farming near Rolla, Phelps County, Mo. Vol. V Civil History. — Special Pension Examiner at Madison, Wis., since June 20, 1900. Vol. VI (Born Oct. –––, 1846.) Military History. — Second Lieut., 14th Infantry, June 14, 1872. Resigned, May 25, 1879. Civil History. — Special Pension Examiner, Cleveland, Ohio, Nov. 1, 1889, and at Madison, Wis., June 20, 1900. Died, March 23, 1915, at Washington, D. C.: Aged 68. |
