Custer, Mon., July 24, 1877, to Aug. 1, 1878; on leave of absence in Europe, Aug. 1, 1878, to July 30, 1879; on frontier duty conducting recruits to Department of Dakota, and at Ft. Custer, Mon., to Oct. 6, 1880 (sick leave of absence, to Apr. 25, 1881), and to July 31, 1882, — Ft. Buford, Dak., to Jan. 10, 1884; in garrison at David's Island, N. Y., to Apr., 1884; on Recruiting Service, to Oct. 13, 1884; on sick leave of absence, Oct. 21, 1884, to May 8, 1885; on frontier (First Lieut., 11th Infantry, Oct. 5, 1885) duty at Ft.
