Served: in garrison at the Presidio of San Francisco, Cal., Sep. 30 to Oct. 14, 1876, — Benicia Barracks, Cal., to Nov. 18, 1876, — and Presidio, Cal., to July 13, 1877; on Nez Percés Expedition, to Nov. 7, 1877; in garrison at Alcatraz Island, Cal., Nov. 7, 1877, to June 12, 1878; on frontier duty at Camp McDermitt, Nev., — and on Bannock Campaign, June to Oct., 1878; in garrison at the Presidio of San Francisco, Cal., Oct. 1878, to Aug. 10, 1880; at the Military Academy as Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Aug. 28, 1880, to Aug. 28, 1882, and Asst. Instructor

(First Lieut., Ordnance, Mar. 18, 1881)

of Ordnance and Gunnery, Aug. 29, 1882, to May 2, 1883, and Principal Assistant Professor of Mathematics, May 2 to Aug. 28, 1883; on leave of absence, to Oct. 27, 1883; as Assistant at Springfield Armory, Mas., to Dec., 1883; on Foundry duty at Cleveland, O., to Sep. 18, 1884; and as Member of Ordnance Board, and Board for Testing Rifled Cannon to Oct. 21, 1886.

Killed, Oct. 21, 1886, by the Explosion of a Shell at Sandy Hook, N. J.: Aged 33.
