Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1874, to June 13, 1878, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to

Second Lieut., 25th Infantry, June 14, 1878.

Transferred to 1st Artillery, July 6, 1878.

Served: in garrison at Ft. Columbus, N. Y., Oct. 1, 1878, to Jan. 4, 1880; and on leave of absence, to May 20, 1880.

Resigned, May 20, 1880.

Civil History. — Manager of various railroads, since 1880. Residence, St. Joseph, Mo.

Civil History. — Superintendent Shepaug R. R., 1880‑83; General Superintendent Hartford and Connecticut Western R. R.; General Manager St. Joseph and Grand Island R. R.; General Manager Iowa Central R. R.; General Manager Oregon Railway and Navigation Co. The above positions were held from 1880 to 1898, but time in each could not be ascertained; till 1900, was Receiver for the O. R. & N. C., when he retired to private life; afterwards, was a State Senator in the Connecticut Legislature.

Died Jan. 28, 1901, in New York City: Aged 44.
