Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1874, to June 13, 1878, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to

Served: on frontier duty at Camp Huachuca, Ara., and Scouting, Oct. 10, 1878, to Mar. 28, 1881, — Camp Thomas, Ara., to June 4, 1881,

(Transferred to 6th Cavalry, Aug. 9, 1878)

— and Ft. Huachuca, Ara., and Scouting (in command of Indian Scouts), to Nov. 24, 1881; on sick leave, to May 24, 1882; on frontier duty at Ft. Huachuca, Ara., and Scouting, to Sep. 4, 1882, — San Diego Barracks, Cal., to Oct. 24, 1882, — and Ft. Huachuca, Ara., to Nov. 4, 1882; and on sick leave and leave of absence, to Nov. 1, 1883.

Resigned, Nov. 1, 1883.

Civil History. — Counselor at Law in Texas, 1884‑89. Member of the Legislature of Texas, 1888‑89.
