Ringgold, Tex., to Oct. 1, 1884; at the Military Academy as Asst. Professor of Mathematics, to Aug. 28, 1888; and on frontier duty at San Antonio, Tex., to Nov., 1889, — and Camp at Nevill's Springs, Tex., to –––––. First Lieut., 19th Infantry, Dec. 3, 1889. Vol. IV Military History. — Served: In camp at Nevill's Springs, Tex., to Feb., 1890; at Jackson Barracks, La., to May 1, 1890; at Fort Mackinac, Mich., to May 14, 1891; on leave to Aug., 1891; on duty at the U. S. M. A., West Point, N. Y. (as Instructor of Mathematics), Aug. 17, 1891 (Captain of Infantry, 19th Infantry, Jan. 3, 1895) to Aug. 13, 1895; garrison duty at Fort Wayne, Mich., to April 11, 1897; at Fort Brady, Mich., to April 19, 1898; at Mobile, Ala., and at Tampa, Fla., to July 23, 1898; at Ponce, Puerto Rico (on sick leave, Nov. 19, 1898 to Jan., 1899), to May, 1899; at Camp Meade, Pa., to July, 1899; en route to and in Philippines, to Feb. 4, 1900; when
