Served: on frontier duty at Ft. Lapwai, Ida., Oct. 4, 1879, and in the field, to Mar. 17, 1881, — Camp Howard, Ida., to July 11, 1881, — and conducting prisoners to San Francisco, Cal., to Aug. 1, 1881; en route to and under instruction at the French Cavalry School, at Saumur, France, and attending the manoeuvres of the French Army, to Sept., 1882; on frontier duty at Ft. Walla Walla, Wash., Sep. 14, 1882, to Apr. 19, 1883, — Ft. Spokane, Wash., and in the field, to May 28, 1883, — on detached service in command of Exploring Expedition to Lake Chelan, Wash., and vicinity, to Aug. 2, 1883, — Vancouver Barracks, Wash., to Nov. 6, 1883, — Ft. Klamath, Or., to June 4, 1884, — Ft. Maginnis, Mon., and in the field (on Rifle Competition at Headquarters Department of Dakota, July 28 to Sep. 18, 1885), to Aug. 25, 1886, — and Ft. Assinniboine, Mon.
