Born Jan. 28, 1857. Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, June 14, 1876, to June 12, 1880, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., 8th Infantry, June 12, 1880. Served: on frontier duty at Ft. Bidwell, Cal., Sep. 29, 1880, to Aug. 5, 1881; in garrison at Angel Island, Cal., to Oct. 18, 1883; on frontier duty at Ft. Bidwell, Cal., to May 12, 1884; in garrison at Angel Island, Cal., to Sep. 4, 1884, — San Diego Barracks, Cal., to Jan. 2, 1886; and on frontier duty at Bowie Station, Ara., to Apr. 24, 1886, — with Indian Scouts in the field, to Aug., 1886, — Ft. Huachuca, Ara., to Nov. 25, 1886, — Ft. Bridger, Wy., to July 5, 1887, — and Ft. Robinson, Neb., to –––––. First Lieut., 8th Infantry, Oct. 29, 1887. Vol. IV Military History. — Served: At Fort Robinson, Neb., to Oct., 1894. — At Fort D. A. Russell, Wyo., to Aug., 1895. — At Fort Leavenworth, Kan., under instruction at the Infantry and Cavalry School, to June, 1897 (Graduate, 1897). — Garrison duty at (Captain of Infantry, 8th Infantry, Feb. 4, 1897) p328 Fort D. A. Russell, Wyo., to April, 1898. — At Camp Thomas, Ga., to May, 1898. — On Commissary duty at Tampa, Fla., to July 20, 1898. — Conducting recruits to Ponce, Puerto Rico, until he Died Aug. 4, 1898, at Ponce, Puerto Rico, of typhoid fever: Aged 41.
