James Henry Waters: Born Sept. 12, 1858 at Fond du Lac, WI.a Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, June 14, 1876, to June 11, 1881, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., 20th Infantry, June 11, 1881. Served: on frontier duty at Ft. Brown, Tex., Oct. 5, 1881, to Nov. 7, 1881, — Ft. Dodge, Kan., to June 6, 1882, — Ft. Reno, I. T., to May 5, 1885 (on leave of absence, to July 9, 1885), — and Ft. Maginnis, Mon., to Sep. 18, 1887; and on leave of absence, to Jan. 18, 1888. Resigned, Jan. 18, 1888. Civil History. — Unknown, nothing authentic having been received. Vol. IV Civil History. — Real estate dealer, from Sept. 25, 1887 to Feb. 23, 1893. — Lumber dealer, Minneapolis, Min., from Feb. 23, 1893 to ––––– Vol. V Civil History. — Lumber dealer, Minneapolis, Min., from Feb. 23, 1893 to April 12, 1907.
