Albert James Griffiths: Born June 17, 1857, Grass Valley, CA.a Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1877, to June 11, 1881, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., 2d Cavalry, June 11, 1881. Served: on frontier duty at Ft. Custer, Mon., and on Escort duty in the Yellowstone National Park, Sep. 28, 1881, to Oct. 30, 1882; and repairing Telegraph Lines, to Nov. 6, 1882, when he was Accidentally Killed,b Nov. 6, 1882, near Ft.
