Vol. IV Military History. — (First Lieut. of Infantry, 25th Infantry, June 30, 1890) Served: At Fort Missoula to Sept. 28, 1890; on leave to Jan. 7, 1891; garrison duty at Fort Shaw, Mont., to July 20, 1891; at Fort Buford, N. D. (on sick leave, Aug. 25, 1891 to Jan. 18, 1892), to June 14, 1893; on duty at the World's Fair at Chicago, Ill., to Oct. 5, 1893; on sick leave to May 7, 1894; garrison duty at Fort Missoula, Mont., to Dec. 2, 1894. — Professor of Military Science and Tactics at the Lawrence University, Appleton, Wis., Dec. 7, 1894 to Sept. 1, 1897, and under orders until Retired from Active Service, for disability in the line of duty, Nov. 15, 1897. Vol. V Military History. — Retired officer. — Residence, Whitewater, Wis. Civil History. — Appointed Regent of Normal Schools by Governor of Wisconsin, May, 1905; resigned, Oct., 1906, to accept detail on active duty at Havana, Cuba; member of General Court Martial, until Aug., 1907. Vol. VI (James Oscar Green, Born June 3, 1859.) Military History. — First Lieut., 25th Infantry, June 30, 1890.
