Ernest Smith Robins Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1880, to June 15, 1884, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., 3d Cavalry, June 15, 1884. Served: on frontier duty at Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., and in the field, Sep. 30, 1884, to Oct. 11, 1886, — and Camp Peña Colorada, Tex., to Aug. 20, 1887; under instruction at the Infantry and Cavalry School of Application, Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., Sep. 6, 1887, to June 25, 1889; on leave of absence, Sep. 1 to Dec. 12, 1889; and on frontier duty at San Antonio, Tex., to ––––– Vol. IV Military History. — Served: at San Antonio, Tex., to June, 1890. — At Ft. Brown, Tex., (First Lieut. of Cavalry, 9th Cavalry, April 21, 1891) (Transferred to 3d Cavalry, April 27, 1891) to June, 1891. — On sick leave to Oct., 1893. — On duty as Q. M. and C. S., at Plattsburg Barracks, N. Y., to June 6, 1894. — On sick leave until he Died, Aug. 18, 1894, at Plattsburg Barracks, N. Y.: Aged 32. |
