Born Larue County, KY.a Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1882, to July 1, 1886, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., 17th Infantry, July 1, 1886. Served: on frontier duty at Ft. D. A. Russell, Wy., Sep. 21, 1886, to –––––. Vol. IV Military History. — Served: At Fort D. A. Russell, Wyo. (in the field in South Dakota during the Sioux campaign, Dec., 1890), (First Lieut. of Infantry, 19th Infantry, Nov. 30, 1892) (Transferred to 17th Infantry, Dec. 15, 1892) to April 1, 1894 (Regimental Quartermaster, Feb. 4, 1893 to March 31, 1894). (Transferred to 10th Infantry, April 17, 1895) — On leave to April 30, 1895. Resigned, April 30, 1895. Civil History. — Unknown. Vol. V Civil History. — Unknown. — Residence, Bardstown, Ky. Vol. VI (James Lewis Druien, Born July 18, 1861.) Military History. — First Lieut., 19th Infantry, Nov. 30, 1892. Transferred to 17th Infantry, Dec. 15, 1892. Transferred to 10th Infantry, April 17, 1895. Resigned, April 30, 1895. Civil History. — Engaged in farming and breeding of live stock in Iowa, 1895 to August, 1899, when he moved to Bardstown, Ky., where he took up same occupation and has continued to present time; Vice-President and General Manager of H. Sutherland Co., Distillers; Vice-President and Director of Peoples Bank of Bardstown; Vice-President and member of Executive Committee of Insurance Co.; tendered his services to the Government at outbreak of War with Spain and again at outbreak of World War, but tender was not accepted. Address: P. O. Box 243, Bardstown, Ky. Vol. VII Military History: — First Lieutenant, 19th Infantry, Nov. 30, 1892. Resigned, April 30, 1895.
