Born October 20, 1863, Alfred, ME.a Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1882, to July 1, 1886, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., 5th Infantry, July 1, 1886. Served: on frontier duty at Ft. Keogh, Mon., Sep. 18, 1886, to May 30, 1888, — and Ft. Bliss, Tex., to –––––. Vol. IV (Frederick Clark Kimball) Military History. — Served: At Fort Bliss, Tex., from June, 1888 to March, 1891. — Professor of Military Science and Tactics and Norwich University, Northfield, Vt., from March 11, 1891 (First Lieut. of Infantry, 4th Infantry, April 4, 1893) (Transferred to 5th Infantry, July 10, 1893) to Sept. 21, 1893. — (Regimental Quartermaster of the 5th Infantry, at St. Francis Barracks, Fla., from Sept. 21, 1893 to Oct., 1894, and at Fort McPherson, Ga., from Oct., 1894 to Sept., 1898.)
