Born Nov. 12, 1863.a Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, Sep. 1, 1883, to June 12, 1887, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., 19th Infantry, June 12, 1887. Served: on frontier duty at Ft. Clark, Tex., Sep. 30, 1887, to May 12, 1889; and in garrison at Mount Vernon Barracks, Ala., to –––––. Vol. IV Military History. — Served: At Mt. Vernon Barracks, Ala., to May 16, 1890. — Fort Brady, Mich., to Aug. 10, 1891. — Fort Leavenworth, Kan., Sept. 1, 1891–June 23, 1893 (Graduate, Infantry and Cavalry School, 1893). (First Lieut. of Infantry, 2d Infantry, July 5, 1894) (Transferred to 19th Infantry, Dec. 8, 1894) — Fort Wayne, Detroit, to Aug. 24, 1896. — Fort Brady, Mich., Sept. 6, 1896 to April 19, 1898. — With regiment at Mobile, Tampa, in Puerto Rico, and Camp Meade, to –––––; (Regimental Quartermaster, June 16, 1898; and May 5, 1899). (Captain of Infantry, 19th Infantry, March 2, 1899) Vol. V Military History. — Served: At Fort Clark, Tex., and sub‑posts, to May, 1899; with regiment at Mobile, Tampa, in Puerto Rico and Camp Meade, to July 19, 1899; en route to and in the Philippines, to Oct. 15, 1900; at Washington, D. C., to Sept., 1902; with regiment at San Francisco, Seattle and Vancouver Barracks, to March 31, 1905; en route to and in the Philippines, to –––––.
