(First Lieut. of Infantry, 3d Infantry, April 26, 1898) p575 — Accompanied regiment to Cuba, and participated with it in the battles and operations about Santiago de Cuba and the siege of that city. — Recommended for a brevet for gallant and meritorious service during the campaign. — On mustering-out duty at Milwaukee, Wis., Sept. 1 to Dec. 12, 1898. — Accompanied regiment to the Philippines, arriving at Manila, March 22, 1899, and participated with it in the Malolos campaign, March 25‑30, and the campaign ending in the capture of San Isidro, April 22 to May 23, 1899. — Wounded in the battle near Balinag, May 23, 1899. — Recommended for brevet for gallantry in that action.
