John Kirkpatrick Moore: Born May 21, 1872, near Hiramsburg, OH.a Military History. — Cadet at the U. S. M. A., from June 15, 1893 to June 11, 1897, when he was graduated and promoted in the army to (Add. Second Lieut. of Infantry, 7th Infantry, June 11, 1897) (Second Lieut. of Infantry, 15th Infantry, July 7, 1897) Served: Garrison duty at Fort Bayard, N. M., Sept. 28, 1897 to April 18, 1898; at Fort Wingate, N. M., to Oct. 7, 1898; with regiment at Huntsville, Ala., to Nov., 1898; (First Lieut. of Infantry, 15th Infantry, March 2, 1899) p625 en route to and at Nuevitas, Cuba, to Oct., 1899; at Madison Barracks, N. Y., to ––––– Vol. V Military History. — Served: At Madison Barracks, N. Y., to July, 1900; en route to China, to Aug. 16, 1900; with his regiment in China Relief Expedition, to Nov., 1900; en route to and at Legaspi, P. I.; (Regimental Commissary, June 29, 1900 to May 21, 1901) to Oct., 1901; Butan, P. I., to Dec., 1901; Bacon, P. I., (Captain, 15th Infantry, March 8, 1902) to July, 1902; en route to U. S., to Aug. 13, 1902; on duty at the Military Academy, West Point, N. Y., as Instructor of Mathematics, to Aug. 13, 1904, and as Professor of Law and History, from Aug. 13, 1904 to Aug. 15, 1906; en route to Philippine Islands and commanding company at Camp Keithley, P. I., to May 24, 1907; Acting Judge Advocate, Department of Mindanao, to April 4, 1908; en route to U. S. and on leave, to Aug. 26, 1908; sick at Fort Leavenworth, Kas., Sept. 8, 1908.
