Born Jan. 15, 1876, Bunker Hill, Il.a Military History. — Cadet at the U. S. M. A., June 21, 1893 to June 11, 1897, when he was graduated and promoted in the army to (Add. Second Lieut. of Infantry, 20th Infantry, June 11, 1897) Served: At Fort Leavenworth, Kan., Oct., 1897 to March, 1898; (Second Lieut. of Infantry, 1st Infantry, March 5, 1898) on sick leave to May, 1898; joined 1st Infantry at Tampa, Fla., May 20, 1898; in command of company at Tampa to June 10, 1898; ordered to general hospital, Fort McPherson, Atlanta, Ga., June 9, 1898; at Fort McPherson, and on sick leave at El Paso and at Fort Bliss, Tex., to Dec. 23, 1898. Died, Dec. 23, 1898, at Fort Bliss, Tex.: Aged 23. See Annual Association of Graduates, U. S. M. A., 1899, for an obituary notice, with a portrait. Buried, Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro, Il. |
