Edmund Nathaniel Benchley: Born Mar. 3, 1876, Worcester, MA.a Military History. — Cadet at the U. S. M. A., from June 15, 1894 to April 26, 1898, when he was graduated and promoted in the army to (Second Lieut. of Infantry, 6th Infantry, April 26, 1898) Served: With regiment at Tampa, Fla., May to June, 1898; in the campaign against Santiago, Cuba, June to July 1, 1898, when he was Killed July 1, 1898, in the battle of San Juan, Cuba: Aged 22.
