Roy Boggess Staver, Born May 12, 1883,º Racine, WI. Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, Aug. 1, 1903 to June 14, 1907, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to (Second Lieut., 1st Field Artillery) Served: At the Presidio of San Francisco, Cal., Sept. 17 to Sept. 25, 1907; in camp at Sargent's Station, Cal., to Oct. 4, 1907; on practice march, to Oct. 11, 1907; at the Presidio of San Francisco, Cal., to Nov. 12, 1907; on leave, to Nov. 30, 1907; at the Presidio of San Francisco, Cal., to Jan. 15, 1908; at Fort Riley, Kas., taking examination for promotion, to Feb. 8, 1908. (Transferred to 5th Field Artillery, Jan. 16, 1908) p797 — At the presidio of San Francisco, Cal., to Feb. 20, 1908; en route to the Philippine Islands, to March 18, 1908. (First Lieut., 4th Field Artillery, March 17, 1908) — At Camp Stotsenburg, Pampanga, P. I., to –––––.º (Transferred to 5th Field Artillery, June 5, 1908) (Resigned, July 24, 1910) Vol. VI Military History. — First Lieut., 4th Field Artillery, March 17, 1908. Transferred to 5th Field Artillery, June 5, 1908. Resigned, July 24, 1910. With Illinois Field Artillery, August, 1911, to November, 1913; organized and commanded 3rd Squadron, 1st Illinois Cavalry, November, 1913, to June, 1915; organized and commanded Battery C, 1st Illinois Field Artillery, June, 1915, to July, 1916; Captain and Regimental Adjutant, 1st Illinois Field Artillery in Federal Service on Mexican border, June 9 to Oct. 31, 1916; resigned from Illinois National Guard, p1285 Nov. 18, 1916; at Plattsburg, N. Y., 1st Sergeant, 4th Company, N. Y. Division, Plattsburg Reserve Officers Training Camp, to date of death. Died, July 31, 1917, at New York, N. Y.: Aged 34.
