Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, June 15, 1907, to June 13, 1911, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to Second Lieut., Coast Artillery Corps. Served: At Fort Monroe, Va., with company, Sept. 16, 1911, to March 9, 1912; on leave of absence and en route to Philippines, to May 4, 1912; at Fort Mills, Corregidor Island, with company, to March 14, 1915; en route to U. S. to April 15, 1915; at Fort Baker, Cal., to Oct. 25, 1915; on leave of absence to Dec. 23, 1915; at Fort Monroe, Va., student officer at Coast Artillery School, to (First Lieut., Coast Artillery Corps, July 1, 1916) Dec. 8, 1916; on leave of absence to Jan. 1, 1917; at Fort Wadsworth, N. Y., with company, to Feb. 20, 1917; at Fort Hamilton, N. Y., to (Captain, Coast Artillery Corps, May 15, 1917) July 12, 1917; at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Instructor at School of Fire for Field Artillery, July 15 to Nov. 12, 1917; at Camp Logan, Texas, with p1560 24th Cavalry (later 82nd Field Artillery), Nov. 15 to Dec. 8, 1917; at Fort Bliss, Texas, with 82nd Field Artillery, Dec. 10, 1917, to (Major, Coast Artillery Corps, National Army, June 19, 1918) June 20, 1918; at Camp Mills, Long Island, with 345th Field Artillery, June 23 to 28, 1918; at Hoboken, N. J., with 330th Field Artillery, to July 5, 1918; en route to France with regiment to July 15; in France with regiment to July 31; Adjutant, 165th Field Artillery Brigade, Aug. 1 to (Lieut.‑Colonel, Field Artillery, U. S. A., Oct. 13, 1918) Nov. 6, 1918; attached to 343rd Field Artillery, Nov. 6; en route to Germany with army of occupation, Dec. 12 to 27, 1918; at Veldenz, Germany, to Feb. 21, 1919.
