Served: on frontier duty at Ft. Jesup, La., 1835‑36. Resigned, June 30, 1836. Civil History. — Counselor at Law, Galveston, Tex., 1837‑61. Brig.‑General, Texas Militia, 1839‑61. Adjutant-General of the Republic of Texas, 18––– to 18–––. Member of the House of Representatives of the State of Texas, 1847. Joined in the Rebellion of 1861‑66 against the United States.a Died, Jan. 2, 1862, at Dumfries, Va.: Aged 47. Buried, Texas State Cemetery, Austin, TX. |
