Military History. — Cadet at the Military Academy, July 1, 1832, to July 1, 1836, when he was graduated and promoted in the Army to

Bvt. Second Lieut., 4th Infantry, July 1, 1836.

Second Lieut., 4th Infantry, Sep. 30, 1836.

Served: in the Florida War, 1836‑37; and in garrison at Ft. Monroe, Va., 1837‑38.

Died, Jan. 26, 1838, at Lockport, N. Y.: Aged 26.⁠a

Buried, Spoor Cemetery, Coxsackie, NY.


Thayer's Note:

a His tombstone (q.v.) gives the date of his death as the Register has it, but his age at death as 25 years 10 months and 13 days. Cullum frequently rounds the age up.
