Examples of Roman Bronze Work
on the Door of the Pantheon

A more detailed page is in the works; for now (in connection, very loosely, with another page on this site) just these relief bosses on the door. They are about 6 cm in diameter.

This one, within touching height, has lost its center finial. It has also been worn smooth over the last 1800 years.

When the door swings open on its hinges, the bosses near the hinge recede into fitted insets:
