The Piazza del Popolo in the capital city of Ascoli.

Although I know some nearby areas of central Italy very well indeed, I've barely spent 24 hours in the province of Ascoli; until I go back to Italy then, for the province as a whole, see the sites listed in the navigation bar below.
For the actual city of Ascoli, an article by Thomas Ashby, excellent if somewhat dry, covers its buildings and history.
Also, in the course of roaming the Web, I've happened to find some sites on specific places I've never been to; I've collected them here. This list is almost random, by no means comprehensive:
Amandola • Comunanza • Cupramarittima • Folignano • Force • Grottammare • Maltignano • Montedinove • Montefalcone Appennino • Monsampolo Montemonaco • Monteprandone • Offida • Paggese di Acquasanta Terme • Quintodecimo • Ripatransone • Rotella • S. Benedetto Tronto
The following comuni, which when I last visited Italy were in the province of Ascoli Piceno, are now in the new province of Fermo, a province in which as it happens I've never set foot:
Images with borders lead to more information.
