Assisi, church of S. Maria sopra Minerva.
High in a wall in the pronaos. Church porches aren't normally called pronaoi: this was in fact the Temple of Minerva. Not much information there, however, since for centuries the porch served as a repository of inscriptions found thruout the countryside around Assisi. (Forget the inscription on the right, I'm afraid.) |
