Peck:

Much larger was I once and ran around,
Now lifeless, mangled, torn away and bound,
To earth devoted, but not buried in the ground.

Ohl:

Larger was I once by far, while life remained; but now lifeless, lacerated, stripped and fastened, I am laid upon the ground, but not laid away in a tomb.
