PORTUMNA′LIA, or PORTUNA′LIA, a festival celebrated in honour of Portunus, the god of harbours (Varro, De Ling. Lat. VII.19, ed. Müller). It was celebrated on the 17th day before the Kalends of September (Calendarium Maff.)
