Aldborough

Together with two mosaic pavements, this stretch of wall is virtually all that survives of the Roman town of Aldborough (Isurium Brigantum), the administrative captial (civitas) of the Brigantes, an Iron Age tribe (or loose confederation of tribes) which inhabited much of Yorkshire and Lancashire.
